[ODE] vtTerrain and ODE

I'm trying to create a tri-mesh of a world( from vtTerrain) to use as
the bases for a vehicle track. I was just wondering if anyone has tried
to incorporate a map into ODE for collision checking and which is the
best way to go about generating the Tri-mesh.

I was think of using the a DEM data model and trying to convert that to
a vertices and indices list for the Tri-mesh build function, but that
isn't working as first planned.

Also if anyone knows of any examples I would much appreciate it.
