[ODE] cvs checkout

Has anyone gotten the following when doing a cvs
checkout. The checkout goes along fine until cvs
complains somethings runs out of disk space. Is there
server out of space, I've got plenty on my hard disk:

U ode/ode/doc/pix/universal.jpg

cvs checkout: failed to create lock directory for

cvs [checkout aborted]: read lock failed - giving up
