[ODE] ODE joints and composite bodies

Dear all,
I created a composite body: few boxes an a spere all belonging to the same body. I now want to connect some of the boxes by joints. The problem is that since they all belong to the same body the regular functions for connecting joints dont work. Does any one has any idea to how this can be solved?
