[ODE] Ragdoll Shoulder and Hip Joints

Can't you already apply (both soft and hard) rotation and twist limits
with a joint motor?  Why would you need more than that?

Has anyone tried using ODE to simulate ragdoll shoulder and hip joints
in a way that is more realistic than just hinge or ball joints? Hip
and shoulder joints probably should be ball joints with a twist limit
and some rotation limits? Would this be easy to set up as an extension
on the ODE ball joint?
