Would it make any sense at all to call the joint feedback callbacks on every
iteration, to get them in the solution loop?  Or perhaps provide an option
to do so or not?  I'm thinking sort of "Runge-Kutta"-style here, though I
have almost no feel as to whether root finding is amenable to such things.

There's only so much calc that will fit in this cranium before it pushes out
some other calc. ;-)
