Not really. You typically (almost always) use a lower-resolution mesh for physics than for graphics.

Regarding the "commas always" and "x,y,z always first" and "whitespace skipped": that sounds fine to me. I think matrices should be defined as 16 comma-separated values in canonical order (i e, allow no transpose or re-ordering).
